Arboretum Private Tour
Celebrate fall with a guided tour through the beautiful Woodland Garden to view one of the largest collections of Japanese Maples in North America. Enjoy the beginning of the fall color change for Sour Gum, Witch Hazel and more. Also explore other aspects of autumn plants: seed pods, cones, dormancy, and how color changes occur in leaves.
The Washington Park Arboretum is a welcome oasis on the shores of Lake Washington. Jointly managed by the University of Washington Botanic Gardens and the City of Seattle, its 230 acres contain a dynamic assortment of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest. Take a walk through the Arboretum and discover this beautiful living collection. The Graham Visitors Center contains an information desk as well as a gift shop managed by the Arboretum Foundation.
Accessibility notes: The Arboretum docents will offer two simultaneous tours, one a standard walk and one at a pace that works best for attendees who want to move more slowly or who have mobility limitations. Each tour is tailored to the group’s capabilities. Stairs and any trails that are uneven to walk on will be avoided for the slower walkers and wheelchairs. Tour guides will use headsets to amplify sound.
