Who We Are

UWRA is an independent 501(c)(3) organization, powered by dues-paying members and member-volunteers, governed by a board of directors, and supported by the University of Washington. We represent and serve the interests of our members and the broader UW retiree population.

Pie chart showing UWRA membership is distributed 31% union-represented staff, 27% professional staff, and 42% faculty, librarians, and academic personnel.UWRA’s membership is inclusive across all three campuses and all employment categories. Membership is open to current UW employees and retirees. As a new retiree, your first year of membership is complimentary, and roughly half of all UW retirees choose to become dues-paying members at some point during their retirement.

CONTINUING CONNECTIONS

We are committed to helping UW retirees remain connected and engaged with one another and with the University. Our programs and events aim to provide you with opportunities for lifelong learning, access to UW and community experts, and continuing connections.
