Auditory Wellness Hands-On Workshop

An Aging Well program

Come join Dr. Yi Shen and a team of UW students, clinicians, and researchers from the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences and the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center for a participatory workshop.

Dr. Shen will start with a presentation including Q&A. Then you’ll be invited to visit stations where you can have your hearing screened, test over-the-counter hearing aids, and learn about the UW’s research and clinical programs related to audiology.

This session will be held in the UW Club, on the UW’s Seattle campus.

Yi Shen, PhD, is an associate professor in the Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences and part of UW’s Applied Hearing Science Lab. His research includes understanding the mechanisms responsible for individual differences in the difficulties experienced by listeners with hearing loss and determining why people with hearing loss experience variable benefit from assistive listening devices. Dr. Shen is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and an affiliate of the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center.
