Visit the Sea Mar Museum of Chicano/a/Latino/a/ Culture
The Sea Mar Museum of Chicano/a/Latino/a Culture celebrates the rich history of Chicano/as and Latino/as in Washington State.
This unique museum includes actual Eastern Washington farm workers’ cabins from the 1940s and features large images of participants in Seattle anti-war demonstrations.
Sea Mar Museum opened in 2019 to share the stories of Chicano/a/Latino/a migration experience and history. The Museum is one part of the larger Sea Mar network of Community Health Centers. Join Professor Emeritus Erasmo Gamboa, who consulted on the development of the museum, to tour the museum and learn about the history of the Chicano/Latino populations in the Pacific Northwest. Following the tour, Erasmo will lead a broader discussion about the gallery and the issues facing Chicano/Latinos in Washington and their future. If you choose, join other UWRA members for a casual lunch near the museum.
If you attempt to register and are told that the event is full, please email UWRA. We have the ability to add a second session if there is interest.
