UWRA advocates for the interests of all UW retirees, and supports the University’s legislative agenda.
UWRA’s Legislative Priorities
UWRA monitors legislative issues of particular importance to UW retirees, and advocates on behalf of our membership. Current priorities include proposed changes to state pension programs and the financial stability of those programs, and ongoing review of retiree health insurance plan coverage and cost.
UW’s Legislative Priorities
UW Impact is the UW Alumni Association’s non-partisan legislative advocacy program, dedicated to mobilizing the UW community in the pursuit of state support for the UW and public higher education. Current priorities include competitive compensation for UW faculty and staff, funding for UW Medicine, and increased access to higher education for underrepresented groups.
As an independent 501(c)(3), UWRA is legally permitted to engage in legislative advocacy. No state resources are used for legislative advocacy work.
