UWRA’s Partnership with Era Living
Since 1993, UWRA has partnered with Era Living, a local, family-owned company, to bring UW retirees and their families intellectually rich senior housing at University House Wallingford and University House Issaquah.
ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP
The University House communities developed out of UWRA’s interest in offering UW retirees a peer community with strong ties to University programs and services. Following a years-long research and discovery process, the UWRA board selected Era Living as its partner in recognition of their successful collaboration with the Seattle Education Auxiliary to create Ida Culver House Broadview, and the company’s reputation for quality in buildings, healthcare services, amenities, and programming.
All University House residents receive the benefit of the character of these retirement communities, which offer academically- and culturally-oriented programs that serve the interests of residents. All University House residents, whether UWRA members or not, may participate in activities and events offered by UWRA.
Through their affiliation with UWRA and the UW, Era Living has worked with the schools of Social Work, Pharmacy and Nursing to connect student and faculty research and programs on aging to quality of life improvements for University House residents.
University House residents and Era Living have provided generous financial support for the UWRA-University House Scholarship, which is awarded each year to students pursuing research or careers related to aging.

PARENT BENEFIT
Parents of UWRA members also receive priority on depositor waiting lists for either University House community and a partial waiver of community fees at move-in.
